Last month, I reviewed the new 12-inch Microsoft Surface Pro for 2025 and came away impressed: It earned its 4.5-out-of-5 star rating score through a combination of superbly designed hardware, intuitive features, and the versatility that comes from a device that's comfortable in both laptop and tablet modes. And now the 12-inch Surface Pro is cheaper than it's ever been at Amazon. It only launched this year, and it's Prime Day price is down from $799.99 to $699.99 for the entry-level model, which comes with a Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. That should be more than enough performance for day-to-day computing.

You could put the money you save towards a Surface keyboard and stylus to make the most of what the Surface Pro has to offer. Windows 11 is now more adept than ever at switching between tablet mode and laptop mode, which you'll get when you've got a keyboard and trackpad (or mouse) attached. The quiet, fanless operation is another reason to rely on it as your on-the-go computer, and with the efficient Snapdragon processor inside, the battery life is solid. You can expect the Surface Pro to last at least a full working day away from a charger—and quite possibly two—as long as you're not doing anything too demanding. If you're shopping for a laptop, tablet, or 2-in-1 like this one, this Surface Pro is a great buy.
